Item (India/Raiders) returned home to Camp Horno(Camp Pendleton) on 31 March 2006 at approximately 2330 hrs.

After a 7 month deployment around Hyditha, Iraq, operating out of Camp Hit. The Battalion had 4 KIA and 1 other death during this deployment.

There was a big turnout even at the late hour they got in. the KV's (Key Volunteers) had set up music (DJ), food and cokes for the returning warriors and the guests that welcomed them home.

The Battalion return took 2 days the 31 March and the 1 april. The number of people attending did not diminish during the 2 days. One of the KV's overheard one of the returning hero's say that he had been looking forward to a slice of homemade pie.

The next morning (the first) miracles of miracles there appeared a table full of homemade pies, all kinds. Apparently the KV's went home and cooked all night long.

The troops will get a 96 hour pass and waiver on distance of travel.

Our Item Company flag flew over our Marines in Iraq and according to one Platoon Sgt it got a lot of attention.
